The Oregon Brewers Festival is not only a very fun way to try new beer with your friends in Portland, it is also a very important economic boost to our region. The festival is promoted by our long time friends at Cascade Brewing – check out more about them by clicking here.

According to the Data Bank section of the Portland Business Journal, the festival generated  $31.2 Million economic impact and created 300 jobs.  There is a link to the full article below, but here are a few other interesting facts:

  • Average out of state visitor spent $714 while visiting the OBF
  • 98 Brewers were represented, including 12 from Europe
  • Five brewers have poured at all 27 years of the festival: Deschutes, Bridgeport, Widmer, Full Sail, and Bayern Brewing (Montana).

And, finally…  Oregon now has the most craft breweries of any state at 181, and the most per capita at ‘6.3 breweries per 100,000 adults’  Wow!
