We still make most of our amazing labels on traditional, flexographic presses. If your label will print in large volume, or will repeat over and over again, traditional printing may be for you.
Traditional printing is alive and well at Rose City Label. Many longer run,
simple labels print better on a traditional printing press. Printing, die
cutting, and waste removal are all handled in one step at over 200 feet per
minute. This label, which has been printed dozens of times over the years,
is certainly more economical on a long run, traditional, flexographic
press.

Rose City Label has recently added more cutting edge digital printing capability. Our full color digital, dry toner printing provides crisp detail on both coated and uncoated label stocks. The press set up is very fast and efficient, which is good for the environment and cost effective for the customer.
The quality is outstanding. Once the roll is printed, it is moved to a second machine for cutting. This all digital process doesn’t use ink, actual cutting dyes, or plates. The image is cut from a digital file that we create from your artwork. No more charges for special shapes or sizes.
Any size, any shape, we can do it all. On this machine the label is laminated with a protective film die cut, and waste is removed to leave the finished label complete and ready to ship. This is the digital advantage and this is the future of short run, full color label printing.

Sarah Fagan is a Portland educator, painter, and printmaker originally from New England. As a painter, she focuses on still lifes, especially those featuring objects of nostalgia and celebration. Sarah recently completed a post baccalaureate program at the Oregon College of Art and Craft with a concentration in Book Arts.
