Oregon Craft Beer – Still Room to Grow

Is the Oregon brewing industry over saturated?  NO! 

According to this article on Oregon Live and the supporting research from the Oregon Employment Department, there is still room to grow for people that produce good quality beer.

With 188 licensed breweries in Oregon, the industry seems huge.  But, as the report points out, only 5,127 people actually work in this industry.  As with many other industries, there are a handful of very large players, but they are followed by many, many more very small producers.  The competition is forcing everyone to step up their game.  Just showing up with another hoppy IPA isn’t going to cut it anymore.  Brewers are being forced to find their specific area of expertise and stick to it.  Some choose a very tight geographic area and try to be the brewpub of choice for the neighborhood.  Some find a specialty type of beer and become the expert in that product. 

Regardless of how they do it, the industry has grown to the point that everyone has to get back to basics – the basics of business, which require that you do something besides provide a ‘me too’ product with average service.

Only the strong and smart producers will thrive in this market and that is great news for our customers for us as Craft Beer lovers.

Family Business Award

Rose City Label was honored at the Austin Family Business of the Year awards presentation last Fall.  We recently got this photo from the awards dinner from the event organizer.  It was a nice reminder of the fun we had that night, and the amazing support we have had from our customers to get us to this point.  We were nominated for the award by a long time customer and continue to be grateful for all the kind words and notes we have heard from many of you.

Closed for Snow Day!

Game Changer for Mid Run High Quality Labels

This beautiful new machine is the latest addition to the Rose City Label equipment lineup.  It extends our digital print capability to an entirely new level.  With this machine, we will be able to help more customers than ever with high quality, digital labels from 2,000 to 10,000 or more.

Our original digital die cutter is still in use, and it excellent for very short runs.  This die cutter is 20x faster, so it open up a whole new market for us.  We have a full solution for all your label needs:

1. Short run digital printing and die cutting – 50-2,000 labels

2. New Mid run digital printing and die cutting – 2,000 – 10,000 labels

3. Traditional long run printing – 10,000 to 2,000,000+ lables
