The Rose City Label office is proud to say GOODBYE to the last of the CRT monitors!
As we continue to upgrade our technology to be as efficient in the office as possible, we also keep pushing forward with more green products and practices. The new flat screen LCD monitors that replaced these will use 68% less power, provide more viewing area for more comfort and less eye strain, and take up less desk space.
We replaced the last 4 large CRT (tube) monitors, along with 4 old PCs and an old Mac computer.
All of these old systems were donated to FREE GEEK here in Portland.

We have been very fortunate at Rose City Label this year, and we are happy to give back to community organizations and causes. One of those organizations we supported this year is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This wonderful group hosts many events each year, including the Light the Night walk. This year as a fund raiser, they are selling cards to teams that participated in the Walk, and also selling these labels for their Holiday cards.
Rose City Label was happy to donate these labels to help the group raise more money for their important research. Thanks to all of you that have made us successful this year — it is only because of you that we are able to give back to the community.

Here is a very nice reply to some artwork created by our lead graphic designer, Lisa. It isn’t always easy to get proofs right on the first try, especially when you are working from verbal instructions over the phone — in this case, we nailed it!
Client LOVED the artwork that Lisa created today!!!!! Knocked it out of the park!!!! They also told me that if we were able to deliver to them some time on Monday, that would be fantastic… Will keep you posted and will also have signed endorsement for the artwork from earlier today for the PO that is pending.

Training is complete, the factory reps have all gone home, and we have had a great month in October!
Thank you all for your support as we made these major upgrades to our prepress and plate making equipment.
This photo shows John and Lisa, who do most of the heavy lifting with this equipment. Together they have almost 40 years of experience here at Rose City Label, and they were both very critical to implementing these changes. Despite the many, many hours we spent in October with training, testing and calibrating the new equipment, we still managed to have the best October in the history of our company, and one of the top 10 best months of all time.

I am humbled and honored to be recognized by our national trade association as the TLMI Converter of the Year. The women and men that have been honored in the past really are the pioneers and leaders in the label industry all over America. This award is a great tribute to our team and especially my partner/sister, Whitney, who stood behind me and allowed me the flexibility to dedicate many hours to TLMI over the years.
Our company is in a great position as we continue to move forward with new equipment and growth. 2011 was a very good year, and 2012 looks like it will end even better in all areas. This award was given based on my many years of leadership in our trade association, but also the great respect we have earned as a company, and I accept the award on behalf of everyone in our company.
We at Rose City Label are truly blessed and thankful for all the people that put their trust and confidence in us every single day. It is an honor to serve you, and the label industry as a whole.
