Colin, Head Distiller, House Spirits Distillery, “House Spirits started in 2005 and really got going with Aviation Gin in that same year. Since then, it’s grown into a brand of aquavit as well, Krogstad Aquavit, and then a branded house line of limited release products. like the coffee liqueur, rums, some whiskeys, aged aquavit, and some small things in the past, shochu, other specialty products that we wanted to have fun with and things like that.

My sister and I came to work here both about the same time, in the early ’90s. We’re getting close to 20 years in the business, and it’s always been a custom label manufacturing company, printing labels for businesses to go on their products for identification and marketing.

My name is Chris, I’m new here at Rose City Label, 3 months. Most have been here a whole lot longer. I’ve been a graphic artist for 25 years and I’ve never been so impressed with the Primera CX/FX Digital Printer. NO DIE! After you print the job on the Primera CX, the Primera FX has the ability to be programed to cut just about any die. Then you can take the waste away from that cut on a spool while the finished product gets rolled to another spool after being cut into however many rolls are needed. I could just watch it for hours and marvel at it’s ability. Lisa, our Art Director, runs these machines and has it down to a science. For shorter runs, it’s the best!
Local distiller House Spirits was recently highlighted as one of the Top 5 Small Batch Liquors by Bon Appetit magazine! These small batch, limited production runs have been very successful for the local provider. These ‘apothecary style’ labels are individual numbered and typically only run 500-1000 at a time. The idea was to provide a very aged, traditional look to the package. Wax dipped caps have been used in the past, but currently a custom die cut cap seal is used to individually seal each bottle.
