The ChillCan contains a cylindrical chamber of high-pressure CO2 gas, which ends in a valve that extends through the base of the can and is capped by a button. When the user pushes the button, the valve opens and the CO2 rushes out of the bottom of the can and into the air. As the gas expands, it absorbs heat from the surrounding liquid, lowering the temperature. Along with his can, Joseph is launching an energy drink called West Coast Chill to put in it. The drink will be available this summer in Arizona, Nevada, Southern California and online, and in stores nationally by 2014. Hopefully, beer will be next.
This beautiful label was an honor and a joy to print. A good customer of ours in Eastern Washington was honoring the founder of their company with a very high quality, limited edition run of fresh, delicious fruit, and they asked us to provide the label.
Because the fresh fruit had a limited time to be packaged and sent to market, they were concerned about what type of label they could create. Time was very short, so they considered a simple, 2-3 color label, but really wanted to go with full color. The Rose City Label team stepped up to the plate and actually finished the project a few days ahead of schedule!
The client was thrilled with the beautiful package, and the meaningful tribute to this great man.

This label project uses PLA, polylactic acid, as the label material. It’s made from corn, not petroleum and not trees. This label is a beautiful, long-life product, printed two colors, and laminated with a clear over laminate film.
Unlike many of our labels, this label doesn’t get delivered in rolls. It’s cut individually and handed out to consumers. At the end of the press here, the labels are cut into strips so a label can still be run, maximizing the press web for best economy.
This has become our informal motto over the years – it really sums up what we do here quite well:
QUALITY LABELS
We produce excellent quality labels that will help your product stand out on the shelf and get purchased. They will always give your product an upscale image, and communicate all the features and benefits of your product that you want the consumer to see. We have great people that care about every label we produce.
DELIVERED ON TIME
For many clients, on time delivery is the single most important attribute of a label order. If you have a bottling date for your wine or beer, or you are launching a new product for an event, being late just isn’t an option. If you work with us, and stay on track with proof sign off and government approvals, we will never miss a delivery date. We do what it takes to make you happy.
AT A FAIR PRICE
If you have simple, commodity labels that can be ordered online with no design consultation, you can probably find them cheaper, especially if you go over seas and can wait for delivery. We have never tried to be the cheapest option – we want to be the best value, with expert design assistance, and a quality product we can stand behind. We are proud to make a profit so we can invest in the future, give back to our community, and pay our employees well.

This high quality label was designed by Rose City Label to help the customer protect their valuable software. The End User License Agreement (EULA) is clearly printed on the label that secures the DVD Case – if you open this case, you own the product.
Rose City Label designed a label that has an easy to use MicroPerforation – basically a zipper – designed into the label. The Mylar laminate is put into the center of the stock with narrow perforations. White, red, black ink are all applied, and then a clear lamination is applied to the label before it’s die-cut with a micro-perforation.
The label has two layers of clear poly label stock, plus a thin strip of bright silver mylar to provide strength and to help the user understand where to pull and peel in order to get into the package. This label has to keep the product closed, but also provide easy access for the end customer.
This label is run on two different presses – first, the bottom layer of poly is slit and the thin mylar ribbon is applied. Then, in this video, the prepared stock is run through a second press, printed 3 colors, laminated, with another layer of poly, and diecut.
All of this must be done in precise registration to make sure the product looks appealing and works for the end user. This product was designed 7 years ago and has been in service around the world for this international technology company ever since. This multi-layer, multi-press construction gives a finished label that is versatile, economical, and work. The tamper-evident seal allows the customer to know if a product has been opened and used.

This is the craziest example of Government Label Approval that we have seen in the past 20 years!
Certainly we know that labels have to be screened to ensure they don’t claim false health benefits (grow hair, stop aging, etc), and they have to be truthful about their contents, but this is over the top.
This is the new, improved version of the label below.
The inspectors required the “Holy Water” to be put in quotes, and the line CONTAINS NO HOLY WATER added below.
Did anyone really think this was a Spiritual Drink? Maybe so!
We understand the importance of government review of all labels for wine, beer, and spirits, but is this really what they should be doing?
