Complex Industrial Label

Complex die cut labels

This label isn’t very sexy to look at, but it’s very functional, cost-effective, and durable, and was challenging to produce. This job was sent to us by another label company that had struggled with the job because it was outside their specialty.

Starting with a specially-designed material, one color is printed on the face of the label, indicating precise specifications for the product. A mat overlaminant is applied and the label is die-cut using a precision rotary tool. Waste between labels is pulled off, and then the label is cut into individual sheets and put onto the conveyor. This label maximizes the size, speed, and quality of our printing press, and it gives a fine finished product for the customer.

We have had great success with the job, and our customer has been very pleased with the results. Everything about the label is very precise, including the material, adhesive, laminate and die cutting. Each of these label sheets contains four main labels and within each of those are 40 different very small die cut labels. These are applied in an industrial environment with grease, oil, and other chemicals, so the material has to hold up .

The small reverse (white) print on each label is critical, as it identifies a specific tool in a set — if the print isn’t clear, the label won’t work.

We have successfully run the job 3 times in the past 18 months and look forward to many more orders from this customer in the future.

Eco Friendly Labels to Promote your Brand

Label Material made from Corn!

This label project uses PLA, polylactic acid, as the label material. It’s made from corn, not petroleum and not trees. This label is a beautiful, long-life product, printed two colors, and laminated with a clear over laminate film.

Unlike many of our labels, this label doesn’t get delivered in rolls. It’s cut individually and handed out to consumers. At the end of the press here, the labels are cut into strips so a label can still be run, maximizing the press web for best economy.

Custom Design to Protect Your Software

This high quality label was designed by Rose City Label to help the customer protect their valuable software.  The End User License Agreement (EULA) is clearly printed on the label that secures the DVD Case – if you open this case, you own the product.

Rose City Label designed a label that has an easy to use MicroPerforation – basically a zipper – designed into the label. The Mylar laminate is put into the center of the stock with narrow perforations. White, red, black ink are all applied, and then a clear lamination is applied to the label before it’s die-cut with a micro-perforation.

The label has two layers of clear poly label stock, plus a thin strip of bright silver mylar to provide strength and to help the user understand where to pull and peel in order to get into the package.  This label has to keep the product closed, but also provide easy access for the end   customer.

This label is run on two different presses – first, the bottom layer of poly is slit and the thin mylar ribbon is applied.  Then, in this video, the prepared stock is run through a second press, printed 3 colors, laminated, with another layer of poly, and diecut.

All of this must be done in precise registration to make sure the product looks appealing and works for the end user.  This product was designed 7 years ago and has been in service around the world for this international technology company ever since. This multi-layer, multi-press construction gives a finished label that is versatile, economical, and work. The tamper-evident seal allows the customer to know if a product has been opened and used.

What Customers Say About Us

Highlights From Successful Customers

Colin, Head Distiller, House Spirits Distillery, “House Spirits started in 2005 and really got going with Aviation Gin in that same year. Since then, it’s grown into a brand of aquavit as well, Krogstad Aquavit, and then a branded house line of limited release products. like the coffee liqueur, rums, some whiskeys, aged aquavit, and some small things in the past, shochu, other specialty products that we wanted to have fun with and things like that.

The design started with we’re going for a more retro feel, a sort of “out of the cellar” look, and that was because we started selling it just at the storefront here at the distillery. It would make it to a few bars and things like that, (more…)

Primera and Rose City Label

The Primera CX1200/ FX1200 and Rose City Label – What A Team!

Scott Pillsbury, President, Rose City Label, “This is a great and established company. My family bought the business in the 1970s. My sister and I came to work here both about the same time, in the early ’90s. We’re getting close to 20 years in the business, and it’s always been a custom label manufacturing company, printing labels for businesses to go on their products for identification and marketing.

We’ve always been a long run, flexographic printer, and that’s still the majority of our work. We’ve brokered some digital work from time to time from other digital printers that had other machines, (more…)
