What a Machine!

The Primera CX1200 / FX1200 Digital Printing System

Scott Pillsbury, President, Rose City Label, “This is a great and established company. My family bought the business in the 1970s. My sister and I came to work here both about the same time, in the early ’90s. We’re getting close to 20 years in the business, and it’s always been a custom label manufacturing company, printing labels for businesses to go on their products for identification and marketing.

We’ve always been a long run, flexographic printer, and that’s still the majority of our work. We’ve brokered some digital work from time to time from other digital printers that had other machines, (more…)

Perfect Label for the Rose City Label Team

Two sided printing, laminating, and Diecutting – this label has it all!

This label makes maximum use of our equipment and expertise. This run of nearly half a million labels was a great job for us!

Some labels are a perfect match for the Rose City Label equipment. In this case, label stock is brought in upside down and printed first on the adhesive side. The label stock is split and remarried after the adhesive printing is completed. Then the label is turned over in the press using a turn bar.

From here, regular printing is completed. Yellow, magenta, cyan, and black followed by a spot color of blue to complete the front side print. All of this is done at nearly 200 feet per minute to ensure the job is completed on time and at the best possible price.

Foil Stamping – Set your label apart!

Foil Stamping adds a touch of class to any label!

This is one of the specialty areas that other label companies come to us for – we are the experts!

Foil stamping is another strong specialty area for Rose City Label. Using a pre-printed label with a special eye-mark, our semi-rotary, foil stamping press reads the eye-mark and stamps foil onto the pre-printed label in  precise registration.

Foil Stamping is a great way to set your label apart from the competition. Using our eye-mark technology, we can register a detailed foil stamp to a preprinted label. The label can be simple or complex – and Foil Stamping will add a touch of class to help your product get noticed on the shelf!

This is a great way to dress up a label from one color to eight colors and add an extra touch of class. This process is a great way to make your label distinctive and stand out on the shelf. Call us today to find out about hot stamp for your labels.

Finishing – the final step in Quality Production

Rewind and Final Inspection are the final check to ensure top quality for our customers!

Rewind is the final step in high quality, custom label production. Since the press runs in long, 5000 foot rolls, it’s important to have a final step where the operator can inspect and wind the labels down to the quantity requested by the customer.

Sometimes that’s as few as 50 labels per roll. This also gives the operator a chance to inspect any defects out and make sure that the final product is all top quality labels for our customers.

Full Color Beer Labels – See them run!

Full Color Flexographic Beer Label printing is a big part of what we do at Rose City Label!

If you have longer run sizes, or items that will repeat over and over again, the traditional high-speed flexo press is the answer.

Full color, flexographic label printing is a huge part of what we do atRose City Label. By printing with the various process colors, our inline label process combines yellow ink with the other colors to put together a beautiful, full color label. Magenta, then cyan, and finally a spot color of blue complete this label, which is then overlaid with a black text shown here.

Once all these colors are laid down, a high quality UV varnish is added to protect the label and keep it from scuffing. Because the label moves so fast, a freeze frame camera is used to ensure that the entire label is kept in perfect registration. Die cutting is handled at the end of the press so the final labels are finished in a press roll ready to be finished, inspected, and sent to you.
